There’s a new diet pill currently in Clinical trials which tricks the body into losing weight.

Excalia keeps the body’s metabolism active so you burn more calories and lose weight. Excalia tricks the Hypothalamus, which controls appetite and body weight into keeping one’s metabolic rate more active.

The Excalia pill is made up of two drugs which are currently used against epilepsy and smoking which means there is a reduced risk of side effects during the trial phase. The pill also increases the hormone levels that control hunger.

Men and women taking Excalia for 48 weeks lost 12 percent of their body weight. A 300 pound man could potentially lose 36 pounds in a year by taking Excalia.

Orexigen’s CEO Dr. Gary Tollefson said the results exceeded their expectations, and Dr. Ken Fujioka, who is one of doctors involved in the trials said “The brain is good at figuring out that the body is losing weight. If a drug affects one pathway that could be used to bring the weight back, it will switch to another pathway”.

The company’s findings were presented at a conference run by the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, whose purpose is to develop, extend and disseminate knowledge in the field of obesity.

Excalia’s creators stated that Excalia is more effective than any of the existing drugs on the market, which only reduce weight by 5-10 percent per year. The scientists also stated their may be other positive side effects to using the drug.

Excalia is still in testing and it could be years before it’s available to the general public, but Excalia shows significant promise as the next big weight loss pill to treat the growing obesity epidemic.

I have tried Tenuate and other diet drugs, I eat properly and walk 3 miles several times a week. I sincerely think a metabolism kick would help tremedously; so if you need additional volunteers for your trials please let me know.

Hello everyone.. thanks for posting your comments. Let me clarify that I just created this info site after hearing about Excalia a couple of days ago.

This site is not affiliated with Excalia or Orexigen. It’s merely a resource site.

For more information check out this Fox News Video from earlier this evening.

Why does it have to take years to put this product on the market when people are willing to try it NOW? We all don’t have years to wait.

Since the US is always years behind other countries with the USDA approvals, what country is this available in at this time?? I would be happy to volunteer as a test subject. I have searched the internet and can only find the above article. Any ideas for more research?

If there is a UK trial I would like to try it. I have been told I have a slow metabolism and that is before the brain realises that I am trying to diet. I am losing weight very slowly at the moment so a metabolism boost is just what I need. I can’t wait years.
